What is the difference between Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing?

The main difference between Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing at The Osborn is the level of care and medical support provided. Assisted Living supports residents with activities of daily life while also allowing them to maintain independence.

The Osborn’s Grandview Assisted Living offers three levels of care: Assisted Living Residence (ALR) which is ideal for more independence with reliable support, Enhanced Assisted Living Residence (EALR) which is ideal for frequent physical support while staying in your home, and Special Needs Assisted Living Residence (SNALR), which is ideal for receiving Memory Care in a safe and engaging environment with skilled professionals.

Skilled Nursing focuses more on providing medical care and supervision through services such as access to onsite medical directors, 24/7 RN coverage, access to short-term and outpatient rehabilitation, long-term care and round-the-clock visiting hours. In addition to medical support, Skilled Nursing also offers fully furnished private rooms, laundry services, housekeeping, and dining services providing residents with a luxury senior living experience.

Does Assisted Living provide any nursing care?

Yes. We have a team of licensed RNs and LPNs that can assist you in managing many chronic conditions.  The nursing team works closely with your physician to ensure the highest quality of care while you are a resident of Grandview Assisted Living.
