The Osborn Foundation was founded in 2015 so that residents, families, friends and other donors could support programs and projects that improve the lives of those at The Osborn, the greater Rye Community, and beyond.
Donations can be directed towards our Charity Care program for any residents who outlive their resources, Academic scholarships, Employee Enrichment programs, the Arboretum Conservation program or as a general unrestricted gift for greatest need areas.
The Charity Care Program supports residents and home care clients who outlive their resources. The program is the cornerstone of Miriam Osborn’s initial vision for the community and we are pleased it provides options for residents today.
The Academic Achievement Program funds awards for children of employees pursuing post-high school education. It was established by The Osborn Sterling Park Residents' Association and continues to grow each year and support nearly 50 students annually.
The Employee Enrichment Program provides recognition for employees’ dedication, hard work and expert care – all of the things that make The Osborn feel like home. The program also provides additional opportunities for staff training.
The Arboretum Conservation Program protects the health of the 1,021 trees on our 56-acre arboretum campus. With 115 species of trees, the arboretum is a treasured resource for residents and the wider community.
About Miriam Osborn
The Osborn was founded by philanthropist Miriam Osborn. Widowed as a young woman, she wanted to create a place where her aging friends and neighbors could live comfortably - even if they outlived their resources. Over a century later, caring for those in our community remains central to our mission.
Today, Miriam Osborn’s initial vision has evolved to provide nearly 400 residential options for living at The Osborn through Independent Living homes and apartments, Assisted Living apartments, Pavilion Skilled Nursing care and The H.O.P.E. Center forMemory Care, as well as home health care services to residents of Westchester and Fairfield Counties.
