Could learning the cha-cha keep our mind sharp? Can waltzing protect our brains from aging?
There is a new study that used country dancing to compare the neurological effects with those of walking and other activities. It does suggest there is a connection that could make dancing an unusual way to slow down the aging of our brain due to the physical demand both on our mind and body. As Gretchen Reynolds explored in "Walk, Stretch or Dance? Dancing May Be Best for the Brain" from NYT, maybe the gym isn't always the answer. So get those dancing shoes laced up and start moving!
