Today at the monthly Sterling Park Residents Association meeting, Dr. Christopher M. Davison, Medical Director of Greenwich Hospital’s Emergency Room, presented an informative overview on the newly renovated ER at @GreenwichHospital. The Emergency Department can get up to 41,000 visits annually which equals 110 cases a day. Out of these 110 visits, typically 20% will actually be admitted to the hospital. You can see why the ER would need an expansion. The newly renovated space consists of 27 mostly private rooms, four of which are fast track rooms for urgent cases. Also included are four Behavioral Health rooms for those patients that are in crisis. Another nice addition is having both an X-ray and CT suite within the Emergency Department which both saves time and enables staff to keep a close eye on especially critical cases.
When you walk through the doors at Greenwich Hospital ER, there are 14 doctors who are certified in emergency medicine on staff as well as 4 physician assistants and numerous nurses and nursing assistants waiting to care you, so as you see, you are in great hands! The subspecialty services offered are many; such as cardiology, gastroenterology, orthopedics and neurosurgery just to name a few. With him (L to R) Deborah Garvin, Marketing Coordinator; Michele Schreer, Director of Independent Living, Sterling Park; and Jack Savage, President of the Sterling Park Residents Association.
