Arbor Day at The Osborn
The Osborn held a tree planting ceremony in honor of Arbor Day last Friday, April 28th, adding a Bald Cypress tree to our nationally recognized 56-acre arboretum campus.
Yesterday, The Osborn senior living community in Rye celebrated the rededication of The Osborn Pavilion which will now called the “Pasciuti Pavilion at The Osborn” in recognition of the Dr. Edward Pasciuti’s ongoing generosity. The Pavilion is The Osborn’s 84-bed skilled nursing center that provides both short-term rehab and long-term care for about 700 residents a year.
Dr. Pasciuti’s mother Jeanette lived as a long-term resident in the Pavilion beginning in 1998 until her passing at age 106. Back in the 1950’s, Dr. Pasciuti first visited The Osborn with a friend to sing for residents and he fell in love with the community. In 2000, Dr. Pasciuti moved into our Sterling Park Independent Living and has been a resident for 20+ years. An educator and counselor in the New Rochelle School District for forty years, he has spearheaded fundraising efforts for scholarships benefitting children of staff at The Osborn as well as a memorial garden on campus. When asked what is so special about The Osborn Dr. Pasciuti said, “The Osborn has met and exceeded all of my expectations. I never could have found a better place to live.”
